Standing Rigging Retainer
These are the official replacement for the black rubber plugs that were used for decades, but are now discontinued. The cover pivots down to cover the fittings, then up for easy removal.
They have to be riveted into the mast (one rivet per retainer) but the good news is, you'll only have to buy these once. These covers will not degrade in sun and salt, pop out and fall overboard.
