Category I (Automatic) & Category II (Manual) Models
A step up from the ACR GlobalFix PRO, the GlobalFix i-PRO adds a digital display screen in addition to the enhanced performance of the GPS receiver. Displays - GPS LAT/LON, operating instructions, satellite transmission bursts as well as battery power. The display also makes self-testing procedures a breeze.
The enhanced performance GPS receiver provides the fastest notification times currently available. Authorities can be alerted to your emergency and know your position in approximately 2-3 minutes - even in a storm! This is about 40 minutes faster than a non-GPS unit, since you don't have to wait for a polar satellite to pass by.
The GlobalFix i-PRO also adds a supplemental shipboard GPS input option to the GlobalFix PRO for even faster transmission of your distress signal to a satellite - typically in under a minute. A truly remarkable feat.
A full-featured GPS-enabled EPIRB, the GlobalFix i-PRO broadcasts (5 watts, 406MHz) your position and vessel information to SAR resources, and provides a homing beacon signal for when SAR forces approach.
Category I Automatic model (#2846, shown): activates in the water, and self-deploys if your vessel sinks; it includes a fully enclosed, UV stabilized polymer SeaShelter 3 bracket with hydrostatic release; it can also be activated manually
Category II Manual model (#2848): activates in the water, but must be manually deployed; it includes a LowPro3 bracket for quick removal when needed
Dual GPS technology - professional grade internal GPS engine is optimized for cold starts, and allows faster location recognition than standard GPS and non-GPS enabled models; Instant-On shipboard GPS connection capability ensures LAT/LON is transmitted immediately upon activation
Bright LED strobe for location in poor visibility, consumes less energy than a traditional strobe
Battery Life: exceeds 48 hrs. at -4F; typical performance 65 hrs. at -4F, longer at warmer temperatures
5-year warranty; made in USA
An optional paid subscription service is available so that when you manually test your EPIRB, it sends a signal to an email address or cell phone, indicating that you are Okay
